Loco has completed Sophie Barker’s music video for her single “Say Goodbye”. Loco’s own Arlene Dignam wrote the treatment and produced the video for which Lee Bamsey directed, edited and created the VFX. Tom Balkwill completed the colour grade.
It was an exciting opportunity for the Loco team to take this music video from conception through production to final delivery. Loco’s team organised the Canon 5D shoot with good friends and talented crew: cameraman Rob Parker, DOP Nathan A Sheppard, and stylist Ellie Worthington. The warm and inviting setting of Kilburn’s North London Tavern served as the perfect location for this enchanted vision of memory and longing. Sophie reflects on life and love as she looks through vintage photographs and writes the song lyrics in her journal. Lee’s kaleidoscopic visual effects even create the illusion of love hearts emanating from the scene.
During the shoot, Ellie placed diamante jewels under Sophie’s eyes which Lee was able to isolate and treat in the VFX, making them twinkle hypnotically. Filming through the chandelier enabled him to add magical, glimmering overlays to mesmerise the viewer. Tom’s colour grade highlights the vibrancy of Sophie’s vintage dresses while desaturating the background to intensify the stylised look of the video.
